Geoff - CEO
|
|
|
|
I was born in Wellington and spent the first two years of my life in that area before
moving with family to Levin where I was raised. On completion of training as a
Telecommunications Technician I was transferred to Christchurch where I met my wife Lois. A
move into sales followed and then a career in electronic retailing, first in Wellington
followed in 1981 with a move to Nelson, where we purchased the business of Fairbairn Lawes.
An interesting 15 years followed with deregulation of the economy and the raising of three
great kids, two of whom live in Nelson and the eldest in Auckland. Nelson is home these
days and it is a hard place to beat, from what I have seen.
My life long interest in motor racing started in 1955 at the Levin Motor Races and has
continued unabated, with my special area of interest being Formula 1. This takes me every
year at least to Australia and often (when I can manage it) to other far off places to
watch and enjoy the F1 experience!
Today they call me the CEO, a very flash title but in reality I am just one of a great
team of friendly people, doing their best to provide a great service to our depositors and
borrowers alike.

Jane - Credit Control

I was born and raised in the farming community of
the Wairarapa. When my final maths and science results were posted I decided my dream to
become a veterinarian was just that and went overseas instead.
At 21 I left New Zealand and spent 10 years living in such places as Australia, Canary
Islands, the Middle East & England. After attending several social events throughout
Eastern and Western Europe, busting a counterfeit ring in Israel and being moved on at the
outbreak of Desert Storm I decided to move my adventures closer to home and returned to
Nelson in the early 90's where I continued to work in the hospitality industry while helping
out with different voluntary organizations.
Now my passport has expired, my back pack is covered in cobwebs and my bank account refuses
to grow!!! These days I can be found behind the desk at Fico Finance’s Nelson office looking
after Credit Control and new business, all of course with the compulsory cup of coffee close
at hand.

Bill - Administration
|

|
I was born in Port Chalmers, on the beautiful Otago harbour and grew up there until
joining the ANZ bank and serving 18 years with them in Dunedin, Wellington and
Christchurch.
I am married to Glenda and we came to Nelson almost 25 years ago so I feel we can almost call
ourselves locals. However, I have a current dilemma as to which NPC rugby team I am going to
support as my beloved Otago and the mighty Tasman Makos are now both in the First
Division!
I am one of the founding directors of Waimea Finance Limited which merged with Fico Finance
to form part of the new Fico Finance Group. My responsibilities in Fico are in administration
and accounting areas although I spend much of my time trying to keep Jane and Sue in line –
not an easy task!!!
I think the office “girls” consider me old, but I certainly don’t feel old when I am hitting
a ball around Greenacres Golf Course or when Glenda and I are enjoying our recently acquired
seven grandchildren. |

I am a born and bred Otago girl, from the Alexandra area. I had a great up-bringing on
my Dad’s town supply dairy farm, with my mum, sister and two older brothers. I moved to
Richmond 20 years ago and have two great teenage kids, Jared and Nicole.
Over the years I have been a full time mum as well as doing part time work for some
local businesses, from pumping gas to cashier for the local power company. I have now
worked for Fico and its predecessor Waimea Finance for nine enjoyable years and love every
minute.
Outside of work my family and friends are my priority and I do enjoy playing netball in
a social grade on Saturdays. Summer is best for me and camping at Kaiteriteri with family
and friends each year a must. I just love the beach life with sand between my toes, so roll
on summer.
